Water temperature is the name of the game during the springtime crappie hunt. We’re on the move to find warmer water. Hair jigs and plastics are getting bit, and the crappie spawn is fast-approaching.

This time period is generally the heart of the back-country brook trout frenzy in the Adirondacks and also when walleye waters start to really kick into high gear.
This past week’s warm weather will push water temperatures up and that should mean crappie and bluegill action will improve in shallow water.
